Our Mission

Most people approach life and sport in similar ways. The focus is on individual achievement, cooperation and team effort. Everyone is expected to make the best use of his or her natural abilities, talents, and characteristics. Individuals with disabilities and youth who are disadvantaged are no different than non‑disabled individuals; they approach their daily lives on the same basis, and it is on this basis that they wish to be judged. However; individuals with disabilities or a life situation are, all too often, treated as though they are less than complete, and lacking in potential, when in fact having a disability or being disadvantaged merely means having altered potential.

Sport and Recreational activities bring together men, women, children and the elderly, and people with all ethnic, religious, socio‑economic and cultural backgrounds in a spirit of fun, interaction and learning. A group of dedicated volunteers, parents, coaches and skilled professionals have developed a program to meet all of these needs. A SPORTING CHANCE is designed to provide a stimulating Sports & Recreational atmosphere that allows the populations with disabilities or disadvantages to have a chance to benefit from the physical, psychological and social aspects provided by a quality sports program.

A Sporting Chance is about challenges, fun, learning and the exhilaration that comes with active participation. People with life situations should not have to be on the sidelines as spectators. Sport and recreation is for all ‑ and A Sporting Chance has a duty and responsibility to make it possible for everyone who wishes to participate.
